Donuts with Grandparents and Special Friends. A tradition we started last year, grandparents and special friends (aunts, uncles, a special neighbor, etc.) are invited to enjoy donuts and coffee with their students the morning of Friday September 20th. 

We had an overwhelming turnout last year, and we realize the check in process was a little hectic. There are two things we need you to do to make Donuts with Grandparents and Special Friends run as smoothly as possible.

1. Get pre-approved through our security system. There are two ways to get pre-approved in our Raptor system:
   • Guests can come to the front office anytime during school hours, between now and 9/20 with their photo ID to get pre-approved in our security system. This is strongly encouraged by anyone local who plans on attending the event.
     
     
   • Guests can register with SBISD “to be a volunteer” (you don’t actually have to volunteer). This takes a minimum of 10 days so it should be done ASAP. If you do not receive an email confirmation saying you have been approved after 10-12 days, you will need to wait in line and present your photo ID upon entering the school on the morning of 9/20. 
2. RSVP. If we don’t know who is coming, we can’t preprint badges! Please RSVP grandparents and special friends who are attending the 9/20 morning event HERE by Wednesday 9/18.

Our district and HCE take the security of our students and staff very seriously. As a result, entering the school can be burdensome if someone is not already in our system, and we don’t know he or she is coming. By completing BOTH steps 1 and 2 above, guests will save valuable time, skipping the line, and instead be able to spend more time with their student.

If steps 1 AND 2 are not completed, guests will have to wait and present an ID to be run through the system in the front office.

We strongly encourage students to enter school with their grandparents or special friends to make the most of their time together as this is a short event.
