Congratulations to our 2025-2026 School Bell Award Winner Jessica Singletary!

Mrs. Singletary has been working with the district for 30+ years and has served in a variety of roles including a speech and language pathologist and PK teacher. She brings expertise from those experiences to her current role which allows her to support early intervention. She works tirelessly to be sure all students have the resources they need to be successful. She serves on the committee at school to evaluate the needs of all students needing assistance. She is a champion for students and spends time with parents and students to ensure they have all needed accommodations (504 and SPED or otherwise). She is very involved and in tune with the needs of the community and aware of pending and pressing issues in the district to be able to work through these with families and SBISD. She goes above and beyond for students who otherwise are unable to do this for themselves. As students join HCE, Jessica works with the family and staff to gather all needed information ensuring the student starts the year strong with HCE.

She also serves as a member of the HCE Student Support team in which these select members handle support needs across the school for students and staff. The time and dedication she gives to her role within HCE and the additional committees she serves on makes her a tremendous asset to HCE and she has a very widespread impact.

SCHOOL BELL AWARD NOMINATIONS (begin Fall 2026)

The School Bell Award recognizes an outstanding SBISD staff member who promotes the Purpose of the PTA and advocates for all children.

All nominees must be current PTA members.
All nominees must be SBISD Employees. (CIS does not qualify)

The Purposes of the PTA are:

To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, places of worship, and throughout the community
To raise the standards of home life
To advocate for laws that further the education, physical and mental health, welfare, and safety of children and youth
To promote the collaboration and engagement of families and educators in the education of children and youth
To engage the public in united efforts to secure the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being of all children and youth; and
To advocate for fiscal responsibility regarding public tax dollars in public education funding

Please complete this form with your HCE candidate nomination who has exemplified one or more of these purposes. Please include specific examples of how your nominee has exceeded expectations of their job description and is deserving of this award.

Our HCE staff nominee will be determined when we return from Winter Break in January by the HCE PTA Executive Board. Our HCE nominee will then be submitted to the SBISD Council of the PTA's who will then select a candidate to represent the entire district!
