PTA Frequently Asked Questions

Who can join the PTA?

Everyone is welcome! PTA membership is open to parents, grandparents, guardians, teachers, staff, extended family members, alumni, and community members. The more members we have, the stronger our voice in supporting our students and school.

How much does it cost to join?

A Single Membership is $15, a Family Membership (2 relatives) is $20, a Faculty Membership is $10, an Extended Family Membership (3 relatives) is $25, and Lifetime Members pay a $5 annual renewal fee.

What is a Lifetime Membership?

A Lifetime Membership is a special honor awarded to individuals who have made significant volunteer contributions to the PTA. It cannot be purchased. Once recognized, Lifetime Members pay a reduced annual membership fee each year.

Why should I join the PTA?

Your membership directly supports programs, events, educational enrichment, teacher appreciation, campus improvements, and so much more at Hunters Creek Elementary. In addition, PTA members receive access to the HCE Student Directory (one per family), the PTA Calendar of Events, Texas PTA and National PTA member benefits and discounts, and are eligible to purchase items through the PTA Store, including parking spaces, marquee messages, event tickets, and other PTA offerings throughout the year. Members also have voting privileges at PTA General Membership Meetings.

Do I have to volunteer if I join?

No! Joining the PTA and volunteering are completely separate. While we always welcome volunteers, there is no volunteer requirement to become a PTA member. Whether you can volunteer for one event or simply support the PTA through your membership, every contribution makes a difference.

What if I don't join?

While membership is optional, only PTA members may vote during General Membership Meetings or access certain member-only resources, including the PTA Calendar, Student Directory, and PTA Store. Most importantly, your membership helps provide the programs, events, and experiences that benefit every student at HCE.

What does the PTA do?

The Hunters Creek Elementary PTA supports programs, events, educational enrichment, teacher appreciation, family engagement, campus improvements, and student experiences throughout the school year. From Beginning Bonanza, Book Fair, Fall Festival, Field Day, Fifth Grade Celebration, Gallery Nights, Hands-on Science, Healthy Lifestyles, Lunch with Heroes, Red Ribbon Week, Science Fair, Spelling Bee, Talent Show, Yearbook, Teacher Appreciation, Cougar Express, the PTA website, and much more, the PTA works year-round to help make HCE an exceptional place for our students, teachers, and families.
